Meanwhile, Iranian media have published a handwritten letter from him amidst reports of his death. According to a Xinhua report accessed by the Argentine News Agency, it was also indicated that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed to have attacked and killed Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of Iran's paramilitary Basij force, in an attack in Tehran. Developments in this information indicate that the Israel Defense Forces reported carrying out precision airstrikes in Tehran. Larijani was considered a key figure in decision-making in Iran following the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on February 28.
